Hotel Guests to Sleep in Recycled Sheets

Guests at W Hotels worldwide will be sleeping soundly in the knowledge of sustainability, as the hotel chain are to introduce eco-friendly bedsheets made completely from a polyester that makes use of recycled bottles.

The new sheets are from Ekocycle – an eco-friendly range of lifestyle products made completely from recycled bottles and aluminium developed by and Coca-Cola.

Approximately 31 plastic bottles will go into making each king-sized sheet set but despite being made of plastic, the hotel chain confirmed that the sheets are still soft and comfortable and no one will be able to tell the difference between the new and the old!

The mass initiative to promote ‘sustainable luxury’ in the hospitality sector is part of’s greater vision to repurpose waste into lifestyle products and the American singer and entrepreneur’s goal is for people to eventually see these products as the norm.

The new partnership joins an array of labels already on board with, including MCM, Globe-Trotter, H Brothers and Ecoalf, to produce sustainable and luxurious collections.

The eco-friendly Ekocycle lifestyle range sits in London department store, Harrods, and spans from clothing and accessories to bikes and 3D printers; all made from recycled plastic bottles and aluminium.
