The results are in! The 6th annual Environment & Energy Awards took place in Birmingham last night (22nd April). The awards are a chance for big companies from across the UK to be recognised for the efforts they’ve made in regards to sustainability, the environment, energy saving measures and waste management.
AkzoNobel, B&Q and Sainsbury’s were among the big winners, chosen by an esteemed panel of judges which included environment and waste industry experts like Global Action Plan, Forum for the Future and WRAP. The categories ranged from Environmental Leadership through to Innovative Water Management and Sustainability Communications.
These awards play an important role in recognising the manner in which businesses handle their waste management and environmental responsibilities. Getting industries on board with sustainable business practises is an important step towards achieving meaningful change in the battle against climate change and irreversible environmental damage.
